Creating rare & unusual worlds

House of Kojo, an online houseplant delivery service, approached us to create a digital advertising campaign introducing them to new audiences.

As an agency, we are always striving to find unique ways to express what makes a brand different. It struck us that almost all online houseplant advertising looked identical. There was almost no distinction between them. So we strove to create something impactful and ultimately different to the norm.

House of Kojo’s uniqueness comes down to it being the largest online stockist of rare and unusual plants in the UK, and so the idea of creating their  ‘rare & unusual’ world was born.

Hand crafted

By owning ‘rare & unusual’ as a concept allowed us to think alternatively. We wanted to create a ‘surreal’ environment that would not only display the plants in a more interesting way but also cut through the monotony of ordinary plant advertising.

We created the campaign line ‘Discover a world of rare & unusual plants’ in order to generate curiosity and then matched the headline with a a wonderfully hand crafted environment and striking colour palette far removed from the competition.

We created various different scene set-ups in order to showcase the various products. We also shot all of the plants and ‘world’ elements individually to give us the flexibility to continue to create bespoke visuals and adverts per plant.

Keeping things ‘rare & unusual’ this winter.

Based on the success of our Summer/Autumn campaign, House Of Kojo commissioned us to deliver their Winter campaign.

This gave us a wonderful opportunity to not only create another unique world, but to also delve into Winter themes without having to do the usual ‘Christmas’ activity.

We delivered a full online advertising suite which went live on November 1st. We’re looking forward to seeing how our ‘rare & unusual’ wonderland performs over the next few months.
